Why subscribe?

“I believe that education, therefore, is a process of living, and not a preparation for future living.” - John Dewey

Life is to be lived, including from age five to age twenty-two. There is nothing inherent to the nature of school that says it has to be stressful, anxiety-inducing, demoralizing, and dehumanizing for both students and teachers, and yet this is the reality too many experience.

These are not the conditions that students want, teachers want or parents want. The conditions are not necessary to prepare young people for college or career. The interests of all these groups are more aligned than they are at odds. I want to change the system the separates all of us from our own hopes and desires.
